Riphah International University is a private University, contracted by the Federal Government of Pakistan in mid of 2002. The University was built up with a view to creating experts with Islamic good and moral qualities. It is supported by a not revenue driven trust; in particular, Islamic International Medical College Trust (IIMCT), made in 1995. The principal venture of the IIMCT was the Islamic International Medical College, Rawalpindi, set up in 1996 by its Founding Managing Trustee; Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Riphah International University, Islamabad was incorporated into "W" Category Universities by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in 2005 and soon was incorporated into the main five colleges in the private division who meet all requirements to get explore gifts from the Government of Pakistan through the HEC.
